Objective
The objective is for participants to be competent in the following topics and be able to apply them to their work.

The practical mechanics training course includes:

  • Strength calculations for bending on steel valves
  • Strap calculations
  • Force progression when setting down loads
  • Hoisting one load with multiple cranes
  • Wind calculations for loads


Structure of the training
The training lasts for two working days (two blocks of three hours on each day). Participants will also be expected to carry out homework assignments, taking an average of six hours per week.

Hardware and software
To complete the homework assignments, participants will need to have their own computer and a copy of AutoCAD (minimum version 2018) and Microsoft Excel. The minimum computer specifications that will be required can be obtained from SEVT or Dijkgraaf Support.
